Vienna Airport Orders 10 Deicers

Ceremonial contract signing at Inter-Airport Show

One of the highlights of the Inter-Airport Show in Munich was the ceremonial contract signing with Vienna Airport Authority for ten 220 deicers.  Mr. Nichtenberger, Purchasing Manager from Vienna Airport Authority said, “After careful and deliberate evaluation, we chose the Safeaero deicer as it was the best fit for our specification”.  A team of technical and management representatives from Vienna Airport Authority were present to take part in the ceremony as well as several representatives from the Safeaero Team.  Curt Herrstrom, Managing Director from Safeaero, hosted the ceremony and said, “We are pleased that Vienna chose Safeaero for their next generation of deicers and look forward to working together well into the future.”

Safeaero had a successful exhibition at the Inter-Airport show with three deicers on display.  One of the main attractions was the new 223 XXL deicer which was recently sold to KLM, as well as a 220 extended height version of their most popular model which was on route to the German Air Force in Northern Germany.  They also had their smaller Typhoon deicer on display which attracted a lot of interest from regional airport representatives or users with a lesser demand for deicing.  With these top three performers on display, they were able to cover all the bases when it comes to deicing requirements.

A new simulator for the Safeaero 220 series also generated a lot of interest at the show.  The simulator is a joint venture between ESG and Safeaero with the aim to significantly reduce training time and costs.

Targu Mures and SIBIU airports in Romania each ordered a Typhoon deicer for their airports.  Targu Mures will take delivery of their deicer in December 2011, while SIBIU will take delivery in April 2012.

Michal Hak, Sales Manager at Safeaero said, “This was by far, the best Inter-airport show we have attended.”  “We had a lot of visitors and interest for our products from all over the world.”
